3rd October: The application period for the 2017 Diversity Visa (DV) program opens at noon, Eastern Standard Time, October 1, 2015 (9:45 pm local time in Nepal; Thursday, Asoj 14, 2072 B.S.), and closes at noon, Eastern Standard Time, November 3, 2015 (10:45 pm local time; Kartik 17, 2072 B.S.).

There is NO FEE to enter the DV lottery. The U.S. Embassy recommends against using a consultant to assist you with your application. Please consider using a family member, friend or other trusted person if you need assistance. No matter who provides assistance, you are solely responsible for your own application. We strongly encourage DV program entrants to apply early!The DV-2017 Lottery will be conducted entirely electronically. Paper entries are not accepted. The Department of State has established a dedicated website for the submission of E-DV entrieswww.dvlottery.state.gov. This is the only website available for DV-2017 registration. Just one application is accepted per applicant. More than one application per person will result in disqualification.
Applicants will receive a unique confirmation number during registration, which they can use to check the status of their. Only those applicants who have kept their confirmation page will be able to check their entry status, and, if selected, receive instructions and notices. Please print and keep your confirmation page.
